Writing
“
So we bring the guitar; we buy the fancy cake; we sit and laugh over old photographs; we all bundle up for five minutes to take a picture with the truck and the cold; we tell of how we love college to those older and we feel thankful that they care; we celebrate the hell out of Amanda Hulsey Thompson who has Alzheimer’s and who is 90 and who we will never let forget how much we love her and how she is worth every ounce of celebration.

“
If every book
Filled with words
Became blank,
If the trees
Sacrificed
Themselves to serve
The stories,
If every hand
Chose a pen
And began writing,
There would never,
In the whole world,
In all of history,
Be enough books,
Enough trees,
Enough hands,
Enough room
For all that
Could be written.
Enough time
For all that
Could be told.

His clothes appeared to be the same clothes he’d worn the day before and the week before and most likely the month before that. The shirt was brown, but only because it had been in every corner of Georgia and taken a memory from each in the form of some dirty mark. His pants had become a part of him; they could be his and his alone. If another tried to put them on, the garment would come alive and bite their ankles and tie the legs into knots. Their sturdiness and few holes were true loyalty. His shoes were not quite as faithful.
BIO
Authenticity, passion, and originality are at the core of what I do--whether in my writing, photography, or in interactions with friends or strangers alike. I seek to cherish the small details of life and celebrate humanity and the world we live in.
Since being raised in Atlanta, Georgia, I have had a deep passion for story-telling in whatever form that may take. As early as I could write, I began constructing stories of every genre, my mind building worlds and characters faster than my hands could keep up with. Entering into my teen years, I began to stretch my skills with non-fiction, seeking to use my words to reveal authentic, beautiful, and often missable, aspects and perspectives of life. Currently, I am an assistant editor at literary quarterly, Southern Humanities Review.

By the age of 12, I grew my creativity as I began to explore with photography and videography. By high school, I began to work as freelance photographer, specializing in
both travel and portrait
photography. Camps, business
retreats, events, and weddings have all hired me for my work. In the past, I worked for the Department of Student Affairs at Auburn University where I captured the spirit and authenticity of campus events for three years.

My writing and photography has been published in YES! Media and four issues of The Auburn Circle, esteemed literary magazine.

Special Skills
As a masters student at Boston University in Screenwriting with a bachelor's in Creative Writing and minor in Journalism from Auburn University, I hope to use my story-telling skills in the future---whether in film/tv production, writing, or other creative ventures.
I am creative and curious by nature, seeking to find solutions to complex questions and challenge traditional thinking. I am full of joy and love to create environments that encourage openness and freedom. I love people deeply and greatly value genuine and clear communication. Public speaking and interpersonal relations are some of my strengths. An avid traveller who loves adventure and with a background in global studies, theology, having lived in multiple countries, I desire to celebrate the diversity and intricacies of humanity and the world we live in.

Beyond writing and photography, I also have experience in:
